St. Louis Blues

Partnering with the Blues, Metro Transit held a community art project outside Enterprise Center prior to the first preseason home game in 2018. Hockey fans of all ages were given the opportunity to paint two specially designed murals, one on each side of the bus, with the intent of promoting public transportation on Car Free Day. A button was also created as a promotional item after the Blues won the Stanley Cup later that season.

THE PROCESS

Step 1: Design a bus. The main goal here is to create an image that is easy enough for people of all ages and skill levels to participate.

Step 2: Strip away the colors, and replace them with numbers. Keep in mind, windows cannot be painted, and people are not tall enough to reach the roof.

Step 3: Invite some hockey fans to help you paint. Results may vary.

Step 4: After a few touch ups, it’s time to hit the streets.
